People drag racing around BR at night

I just stepped outside and - off in the distance - I can hear engines revving, tires screeching, motorcycles flying all around I-10, Siegen and Perkins.
What the hell is going on at night??? Is Baton Rouge just some huge drag race mecca? Fortunately I don't hear most of this in bed as I would be royally pissed. Who are these people, and why isn't law enforcement cracking down on this crap? Hey Sheriff Sid Gautreaux: this is easy ticket money for EBRSO; enforce the speed limit and sound ordinances.

I live right off of Brightside and it sounds like the Indianapolis 500 every night.

Not long after NillaWafer was born I’d hear someone tearing it the F up down bluebonnet between the Preserve and Nicholson at like 3 AM on random nights.

Actually a pretty large underground race scene in BR. Had a young coworker that would go somewhere off Perkins every Saturday night for drag races.

One night about 10 I was driving past a self serve car wash with about 20 black guys in their Chargers. They all peeled out at the same time and revved it down Old Hammond.
