Get fricked.

How is it not their fault for wasting millions of taxpayer money on luxuries? Because they don't want their budget reduced the following year?

Any non retard would clearly see that their budget should be reduced.

I’ve always said military is the best place to cut the budget. Cut their funding by half and no more national debt after 5 years

We can worry about both. Fire everyone involved including Hegseth. Dig into the various social services depts and you'll find the same thing. Fire them too. Reduce allowable SNAP purchases to basic food products. See, both could be done.

Firing people won’t do anything, you have to chance policies

Again, this is not anything new and has been going on for quite some time over several presidents from both parties. Trying to feign outrage over this now like it's some new phenomenon is stupid.

Considering the defense budget is $850 BILLION dollars a year, including billions on planes, ships, and missiles, the spending you're talking about is marginal and may very well be needed next year like if...oh wait, we have to attack Iran in Q1 2026.

People who bawk at the defense budget are not bright.

Probably a Body Built chair and it's 100% worth it. Got to make an ergonomic claim to the HR and get tested.

I negotiated one as part of accepting another company position once. It was $1600 in 2017.

I'm told they fought over that thing when I left.

The defense budget is 850 billion this year. 5 years of halving their budget wouldn't even cover what we're adding each year

Nobody said it was new.

Holy shite

You honestly think that if they needed more money they just wouldn't take more money?

There is always more money for war. Always.

Never more money for the people though.

People who simp for the government deliberately wasting your own money in front of you are worse.

I don't know why I have to keep reminding people of this, but the government works for me and you.

That's not how this works, turbo. They have to stock up before a war, not wait until Congress declares a war to ramp up production. Some things literally can't be produced at a faster pace. You need to stockpile them.

Regardless of the administration, red or blue, this kind of taxpayer waste is indefensible when you look at the condition of our roads and bridges, failing public schools, aging water systems, underfunded emergency services, etc.

Thank you Klark, yes I was not trying to be political, this has gone on for decades under both parties. I bet they spent more on this than they saved by firing a few thousand people due to DOGE (and then quietly hiring many of them back).

That said, I dunno what the situation is like where you live (and I am not arguing with you in the slightest, just keeping the conversation going) but in suburban New York there is a lot of overspending on Emergency Services. I didn't save it and it's probably gone now but I read a post a few weeks back about how overly luxurious many Fire Houses are, new ambulances every other year (that could last fifteen years without replacement), equipment that is almost never used - like inland units 20 miks from water with a "Marine Unit" with a boat, etc...the guys just go out in it to fish! My point is, this happens both federally and locally. I will try to find the post but I don't even quite remember where I saw it but I have a few ideas.

Thanks again for the nice words!
