So we're worried about food stamps and insurance help from the government. But it can spend $93B on total junk that isn't needed?
I don't want to hear anyone bitch about welfare. We should cut the military budget by 80B.

But again why do we automatically assume it was wasteful spending because the author of a gotcha article says so?
Notice he only says how much they spent but didn't investigate any further. He doesn't say how much was spent in August or any other month nor does he indicate where the ribeyes went, what quantities were purchased etc.
Fair point

I clicked and read the article and sadly I didn't pay attention to where it was coming from. That's my fault. But now that I see how TMZ has handled this story, I withdraw my earlier post because.. TMZ pushes agendas.. All media does, but TMZ is shite.
Remember when TMZ went from being like national enquire to a decently reliable source and now they do what all news sites do, but with a little extra bullshite.

Found the post -
I've been in the volunteer system for over 20 years and have been department Chief for more than 7 of those years. The duplication of services and equipment is insane on Long Island. Everyone needs multiple million-dollar-plus rigs that they don't have the membership to staff; every department needs three to six Chiefs; and you can lose track of how many ten-million-dollar-plus fire houses you'll drive past driving down Jericho Turnpike. I lived in Virginia for a short while when I was in the Army and I like what I saw there: a county based combination department. Each rig had open seats for volunteers to fill but, those volunteers trained and worked as if they were paid. The volunteers showed up at the start of a shift, did chores with the paid staff, and were expected to perform at the same level. Currently, Nassau County requires a certain number of years as a volunteer firefighter within the county to qualify for certain civil service positions, like Fire Marshall or Dispatcher.
There are over 250 volunteer depts in Suffolk county alone, and for insurance purposes EACH ONE of those depts requires a minimum of fire equipment (trucks) such as pumpers, ladders, and heavy rescues etc. for comparison, the entire NY Fire Department has only 5 heavy rescue trucks (1 assigned to each borough). Being that these rigs are just increasing in cost (a brand new class A pumper, cheapest type of apparatus, is over $600k) consolidating would at best allow the closure of some firehouses and less apparatus. I know my parents house has FOUR fire stations within 2mi of them (!) that are from 3 different townships/departments - way overkill.

the Pentagon tries to spend as much of its congressionally allocated budget as possible at the end of every fiscal year because of federal “use-it-or-lose-it” rules

this concept is so infuriating, and i watch it happen year after year.
People are going to think this is something new but it been going on for decades.

It’s the rules, use it or lose it, don’t blame the current administration. I’m glad he treated our soldiers to gourmet meals, I think they deserve it. It’s better than funding more Quality Learing Centers.

I’d rather my tax dollars go to buying crabs, salmon, etc. for the people defending our country than go to fatass Shanaqua’s Diet Cokes.

Does Louisiana use a Feb-Jan fiscal year?
I’m pretty sure they do on the State level. Caddo and Bossier Parish do for sure and so does City of Shreveport.

Have you priced donuts lately?
Krispy Kreme is like 20 dollars dozen at regular price, got to on a coupon day to get BOGO or buy one get one for a dollar more.
And in the entire grand scheme of government, it is chump change.

Just a short year ago, the same people outraged at this were torching Teslas and Tesla dealerships because Elon Musk audited the fed and showed us trillions in fraud. Just a few months ago, billions in fraud were discovered in MN, so the same people outraged now attacked ICE to help Waltz distract the country from the money he and his violent, low IQ Somalian stole and continue to steal.
But this is horrible. LOLOL
Make it make sense.

We should have a budget adjustment. Just like certain things aren’t allowable for deduction for businesses. There should be things that aren’t allowable for deduction for their budget. Add up all the stupid shite and cut it. Then that number is what’s calculated for the new budget for the next year.

Now do welfare and daycare fraud - two things that are non essential.

Pentagon Waste is a very old story...my 2 tales:
1. Dumb is how to do it. While pulling KP at Bragg I dumped Thanksgiving dinner for 200 men into the bins sold to pig farmers. The day before it was announced that some top brass was to honor us with their presence at the meal, and we must wear class A uniforms. Not a single enlisted man showed up. Most had post-support duty that day wearing their fatigues. Those off duty were sleeping.
2. Stealing from Army isn't really stealing. For months one company dining hall kept running out of food early every meal. A couple of the cooks were running a restaurant about 30 miles away using stolen food.
