In my younger years, first adult real job, local deputy started a fire at a Historical home owned by the company. I passed by during a routine check near there which was once per 12 hour shift. I saw a unit there and thought he was just running radar. 30 mins later I get a call that said I need to go check out that area and noticed the same cop that arrived on the scene first. He started the fire, put it out and became a hero. That is until the fire dept got more info and arrested him. All I could say was that he was there when I passed the place. Guy I went to high school with.

I bet this is more common than we know.
I've met quite a few firemen who are weird about it.
