I have this exact trainer and use the Zwift app. It's $9 a month to log on. I ride my bike, which is set up perfectly to fit me.
Peloton is the nordic track of this era.
50% of them will be dry cleaning hangers by August.

Yikes.
If you want, buy one this is America. It is a dumb purchase though.

My 24hour Fitness membership is only $21 a year. So I get spin classes for $1.75 a month at any location in the USA.
And how often are spin classes offered? Who is it taught by?
What if you want to do a spin class at 2 pm on a Sunday? Or 2 am on a Tuesday? Is there a class scheduled at that time?

What cycling studio do you belong to where membership is only $40 a month?
I'm a member of mother natures cycling studio. $0/ month and they let you go as many times as you want 24/7. Also comes with this really cool 360°immersive 3-d environment that changes every time you use it.

So to finance a bike and get monthly membership it is $110. In the end all you have is a bike to work with as well

So you're a douchey cyclist?

And other classes not related to cycling, like yoga, etc.
Also, the convenience factor of it being at your house and still getting class instruction whenever you want cannot be understated.
I don't have one, but have 2 friends with them and they love it. They'll ride on it in their house before their shower in the morning for a quick 15-20 minute high intensity instructor led class. That is so much easier than riding outside or going to a gym.

It is more than spin, which is a good thing. I guess if they do not have a spin class at that time I want, I can just ride one of the 30+ bikes without some trainer yelling at me.
I will take a gym membership, over a Peloton every time. If you can afford both, go for it though.

Nah, more of a douchey runner. My bike tire popped a few months ago after I fell getting monster air off a curb. Haven't replaced my tire yet.

This was me, I’m able to get home, I’ll get on for a 30 minute HIIT ride, eat while I’m cooling down, shower and I’m ready to relax for a slight bit before bed.
The convenience was huge.

So like a Youtube video, they are out there.

This is something I struggled with in the past and not getting exercise. It is really just being lazy on my part, so I build that time into my schedule to actually leave the house. Get away from electronics and other mind numbing things.

I swear I thought I had heard it was somewhere in the $125/mo range.
Dude some classes alone are $125 just for one.

So, you're so poor that not only can you not afford a Peloton, you also can't afford to replace a bike tire.
The best part of these threads is how cheapskates act as if their cheapness is a moral virtue to be celebrated openly.

FWIW on training though... base work sucks. winter work sucks. I have a kickr myself and I love that damn thing; motivation is my biggest issue(Yayy! two hours of staring at a fricking wall at the same cadence/power for the next 8 weeks). If the Peloton makes it easy to get that kinda crap done though? Miles are miles. Cant be any better/worse
yeah, i have a kurt kinnetic trainer and can't stand to be on it for more than an hour. luckily we don't have TOO many cold/rainy days here in phoenix, so i can ride outside a lot. i think a kickr smart trainer and zwift would make it more bearable, but i do not want to drop 1200 dollars on a trainer...
but as far as using the peloton to train for racing, what is the geometry of that thing? it looks like it puts you in a pretty upright position, and eff those handlebars. does it have a real road bike geometry?
Posted on 1/29/19 at 11:45 am to Bunsbert Montcroff
People comparing a peloton to a kickr or something are missing the point

I've been saving for months to get a new bike tire. Almost have enough. Should be back to weaving in and out of traffic in no time.

These people know how to market to a specific demographic. Surprised to see it doesn't have a wine dispenser.
