Possibly
We planned for the worst possible scenario, it's not going to happen. Some people need to realize we may have had bad information from the start. The US is far better equipped to handle these cases than any other country.
Politicians are lazy and take the lazy approach instead of taking a wiser approach. We panicked, that's not how you implement public policy that can adversely affect millions

Which is why I asked the follow up question of, "What do you think happens when they open everything back up?"
well its a loaded question
we are not going to "open everything back up" just like that
it will be done in phases over several months
and we are currently preparing for more spikes in the future with allocating resources and testing treatment schedules
which was the entire point of "flattening the curve", to allow time for those things

Your post:
What they actually said:
quote:
What's funny is Barr announced today the DOJ will step in and crack down on religious gatherings now nationwide. Yes, Trump's Bar
What they actually said:
quote:
Attorney General William Barr "is monitoring (government) regulation of religious services," said Justice Department spokeswoman Kerri Kupec on Twitter late Saturday. "While social distancing policies are appropriate during this emergency, they must be applied evenhandedly (and) not single out religious [organizations]."

Rights and responsibilities. Everybody gets the first one. Second one, not so much.

A cop should never use deadly force unless his or other lives are in danger.
People also shouldnt be getting citations for going to church just like the dude in Philly shouldnt have gotten drug off of a bus for not wearing a mask.
however, it's more interesting in the type of compliance or non-compliance we are getting from folks that usually say that you should abide by authority.
cops says do something, you do it, in order to make no trouble.
now, it's not complying because you don't want to, bc the government is evil and the cops are only there to carry out said evils.
i hope folks remember the selective noncompliance the next time a question of whether or not we should do whatever a cop says comes up.

Idiots like this will just keep the government being over-aggressive since the population is apparently too stupid to just practice social distancing without being forced.
yes, because if we've learned anything from totalitarianism, its that conformity results in less authoritarianism.

You and lunchbox think y’all are a lot smarter than y’all actually are. You really have no idea wtf our government is going to do.

You are right.
We are headed straight towards communism.
My apologies.
Doom and gloom is all that is allowed on the OT.

We are going to have a huge second wave of infections all over the country b/c of all the churches that decided bathing in the blood of Jesus was enough to keep them from getting CV.

I believe it's possible to open business and have expectations they will operate safely. People complain about this church service yet Costco in San Francisco had lines hundreds of yards long to get inside.
We are picking winners and losers, yet people are forced into the same few open venues.
Meanwhile restaurant owners are drowning while saying they can safely operate, but not being allowed.

The same people who screamed and cried over the doom and gloom regarding the health severity of covid are the loudest doom and gloomers regarding the economy and government action.

Yes, evenhandedly
You don't get it do you? You think you have a gotcha. You're fake news, Son.
