It's far more likely we relied on bad information than "people dying on the street." We have increased capacity in hot spots to meet the need. We do not have shortages.
They just closed the expanded center in Seattle with no patients. New York expanded capacity to meet the need

Air travel is still not grounded. Think about that. People are upset about a church gathering. But all those same people can congregate at any airport and then join hundreds of others on any flight to any part of the country.
