I'd like to think that as his bones were crunching and he was bleeding out, the cries and shrieks of his horrified parishioners accompanying him to his excruciating death, he then truly lived - perhaps - for the very first time.
quote:

Pastor Docho Eshete was baptizing at least 80 members of his Protestant congregation at Lake Abaya, in southern Ethiopia, an area known to have a huge crocodile population, when one of the creatures leaped out of the water and grabbed him.

"He baptized the first person and he passed on to another one,” a local resident told the BBC. “All of a sudden, a crocodile jumped out of the lake and grabbed the pastor.”

Pastor Docho died from injuries on his legs, back and hands despite efforts from the congregation, fishermen and residents trying to save him, policeman Eiwnetu Kanko said.

The crocodile escaped as the group used fishing nets to prevent it from taking the pastor’s lifeless body.
Though, i don't think you can call it divine if a guy gets eaten by crocs in a croc-infested lake.

If I was the guy about to get baptized that would feel like a sign to me.

Shouldn't ignore local wildlife. Crocs are ambush predators, so just because you don't see them doesn't mean they ain't there.

Sounds like his congregation was pretty brave and did their best. At least he was loved. Oh well, see ya later alligator.

Yes he does brother. This quote made me feel better when my mother died at 42 when I was 20. It brought peace to my life every time someone said this to me at a gathering. He is mysterious indeed. Praise be to god.
