Arguably the most annoying thing in technology. Use the same or some variation of the same password for all of my logins and then the one website that requires a capital letter, lower case letter, number, symbol, punctuation and your social security number comes along.

Let me make my own password for fricks sake. Yes, this is my first world problem of the day

Or after a few months it makes you change passwords but you can’t use your last 5 passwords

Sorry, password is too weak. To meet minimum requirments, passowrd must contain at least 15 characters, one lower-case letter, one capitol letter, one number, one special character, one emoji, one roman numberal, one sandskrit character, and one Egyptian hieroglyphic. Password may not contain a period.

At my work, they now require the password to be at least 15 characters long. But, they now allow words that are in the dictionary.

Stupidest shite ever.

AND, you don't even use the password to login to the computer (nor can you), but it still makes change it every 3 months.

I have to keep a written log of all of my passwords with shorthand for what websites or applications they are used for.

That's all of our work passwords. People don't understand that making everyone change their password every 90 days leads to simpler passwords that are easier to figure out.

How any IT department in 2019 doesn't understand this is beyond me.

It really isn't. Not sure why people complain about this because if they didn't have to do it, then they would make some simple password that would make it easy to hack into their accounts then they would have to put in more effort to fix that.

Google: “Click on ALL images with a street sign in them.”

Golfer: Clicks on all images with street sign

Google: Try again. You missed the single pixel sign on the newspaper on the dashboard of the car in square 14.

I can crack an eight character password, even if you're using complexity (numbers, characters, etc) in a few hours.

It would take me years to crack a 15+ character password, even if it's a phrase using dictionary terms.

Length is far more important than complexity these days. And not just for your mom.

Story of my life in my office. they can go frick themselves with me needing a new password every 3 months.

Password requirements: something unrelated to you so that you will easily forget.

also while we're here griping about passwords, let me get my frustration out on password recovery questions.

Not surprising you don't understand it.

Making people create a new password every so often leads to people creating simpler passwords or creating different variations of the same password ie subbing @ for an a but otherwise keeping the same word.
