Passed a guy with an upside down American flag on the rear window of his vehicle

I checked out the meaning when I got home and found out that it’s the universal signal for distress. I would guess that a huge majority of Americans wouldn’t know that. I’m assuming that he thinks that the country is in distress. My belief is that most people, especially in the area where I live, will interpret this as disrespect to the country, as I did before researching. There are plenty of rednecks to provoke, and this seems like a good way to do it. He’s probably going to have a few confrontations, which may be what he wants.

From what I was told, it’s major disrespect if it is showing that way without just cause. I’ve never seen it out that way in public before. Usually just on uber liberal political forums.
