NFL games aren’t fixed unless the NFL want to gear them a few ways (ex. Saints following Katrina).

Pre NIL, this went on in college more than anyone would like to know.

Do you really think these guys who play in the NFL could collaborate a rigged game without one of them getting mad, snitching, telling the wrong person.

Seeing as the World Series has literally been rigged before, is it that outlandish when there’s THAT amount of money at stake?

If they could get away with it, I’m sure most of them absolutely would

Ha! He’s not the one making the bet. It’s made by whoever is extorting him.

He likes to live. He likes his family to keep living. ‘ Ndrangheta makes a threat on a life of a loved one or your life, and it changes things.

Cricket and tennis matches being fixed is rampant. It’s not as rampant in the big four sports in the U.S. because the casino industry has so much pull and so much at stake. They always analyze betting trends on games, and then review games especially if there is anything out of the ordinary.

A QB taking a really stupid sack when extending a play isn't some crazy anomaly

GB was a 7.5 point favorite.. The Browns ML was something like +300, if that much money was bet and a lot of it was on the ML.. They casinos probably got reamed on that game.

NFL teams who were at least a 5 point favorite were 94-7 straight up since the start of last season.

Doing a money line parlay with big favorites in the NFL is what all the nerds on podcasts and Youtube were telling everybody to do last week and the latest betting trend.

I lost out on a few hundred the other night with GT vs. Temple. GT managed to go up by 28 late in the 4th to cover the spread. Then Temples coach decided he wanted to try extra hard to score in the last 2 minutes and they ended up scoring a garbage time TD. Even the commentators were wondering why they wanted to score again so bad.

Because the object of the game is to try and score

You wouldn’t even need a player to be in on it, only an OC or DC could do it. And if a DC did it well, it’d be very hard to determine. Setting the secondary up to fail with a few bad coverages/blitz calls would do it

Fair enough. But to leave all your starters in and use every timeout down to the last 2 seconds to score a garbage TD when you're down 28? Of course i was biased because I wanted to win but it really did seem like they were trying to beat the spread.

It didn’t really draw the attention of the feds. The books alerted them because they are looking for any excuse to void the bets because they took a bath.

I'm honestly baffled. No idea what group you're trying to stereotype here.

Congrats on exploring the space, I guess.

I assume this is a joke. I am not stereotyping anything. If not a joke then I am honestly baffled that you have never heard of ‘Ndrangheta. They made Cosa Nostra seem like a street sect or click. They are one of the wealthiest and most powerful groups in the world. Their bread and butter (and caviar) is primarily international drug trade, but they branch. According to Interpol’s website:

The ‘Ndrangheta is one of the most extensive and powerful criminal organizations in the world.

Its roots are in the Italian region of Calabria, but it has now expanded to more than 84 countries worldwide and continues to grow at a steady rate.
