Was explaining to the wife and kids (no pics) what it was like to play outdoor games when I was a kid. Late 70s early 80s. Remembering a few besides flag football and kick the can. What do you have?

Smear the queer. I hear it's frowned upon these days.

Swordfighting.

Used garbage can lids as shields and Wiffle bats as swords.

Cowboys and Outlaws. Army. Baseball. Football. Basketball. Farming......yes, I had all the toy tractors and used to spend hours creating my farm in the dirt.

Used to play a game where we knocked on doors then ran. The name slips my mind.

Capture the flag in the cane fields. Once we got older this evolved into capture the flag on 4 wheelers and go karts with paintball guns.

Murder in the dark was a good one as well.

Hide and Seek. Still have a scar on one knee for going over a weedy fence and finding out the hard way that it was barbed wire. Limited by which blocks you could hide in.

More civilized: badminton croquet not to mention damming up creeks and seeing if the creeks would survive the next rain.

Archery (no crossbows)
