about four metric tonnes of “space junk” – is on course to intersect with the moon at a velocity of about 2.58km/s in a matter of weeks.

Until the moon monsters see it as an act of war and retaliate against us.

At least it's not Jeff Bezos's flying phallic rocket. That would be interesting to some Aggie fans.

That’s about 8,800 lbs, and it cost a lot just to get that into orbit.

Onoz, another crater in the green cheese! Too bad the moon isn't made of ribs.

This is really nothing new. Back in the late-60's - early 70's the NASA Apollo missions 11 and 12 placed seismometers on the surface of the moon and proceeded to crash all sorts of things into the moon to detect the vibrations. The seismometers also detected the first "moonquakes".

As long as it doesn’t strike the dark side of the moon where the lizard people have a space station they use as a rest stop on the way to Mars.

Need the diameter of the junk to compute the ballistic coefficient of 8,800lbs travelling at 5,800mph (2.58km/s).

That would leave a mark for certain.

So the Moon will have a new crater, sounds like that's about the extent of the issue.
