You've clearly never worked in the food service industry. Had this taken place in a city outside of some podunk Baptist hick town it would be just a normal conversation between management and staff. A lot of people are entitled and lazy and need to be called out on it or hit the fricking road. Which is exactly what he told them. The immature moron girl should be the one issuing an apology for recording her boss.

Thank you. I just saw a car jacking on here that wasn’t a car jacking so who knows. Dude still gives off a douche vibe. Good luck to him.

This is just a normal conversation in Monroe restaurants too. The e-mob is real and everywhere and is all this is. People feigning outrage driven by the desire to appear virtuous on social media

The fact that this was recorded and posted online proves Shane was correct in his assessment and treatment of his employees.

They are obviously trash.

What a bully. I have nothing but contempt for people like this.
He's got an oddly vacant, emotionless look about him too.
This is why people's fantasies about revenge or a bully getting his just desserts never really work. Deep down, he is not really embarrassed and doesn't really care about any of this, or regret anything.

There is nothing you can do to fix a prick like this, you just have to avoid associating with them.

I may be wrong on this but isn't illegal per FCC rules to secretly record a telephone conversion without the other party's knowledge and consent?

It depends on state law. Louisiana is a one party state so as long as one of the individuals on a call know its being recorded then it's legal.

Soooooo…blame the victim?

She's only a victim of herself, so yeah. She knows the rules and she knowingly violated them. Not liking the tone of her reprimand doesn't make her a victim.

Along with that, no one is forcing her to work there. If he's too much of an a-hole to tolerate, she should find another place to work. If she decides to stay there and continue taking it for continuing to break the rules, she's still only a victim of her own unwillingness to adapt (whether by quitting or not leaving when she shouldn't).

Every state has something similar, they just call it something different.

It’s just a parish/county council.

There are strings of text logs out there, aside from this incident, that show he’s a true douche. Any man who would speak to a young woman that way shouldn’t be in any type of leadership position. It wasn’t just a one-time thing either. Before we just dismiss this as a man frustrated at his employees, ask yourself what you would do if a grown man spoke to your wife or daughter that way. I’d be pretty livid and would be pushing to have him removed from public service and boycotting the restaurant.

Some of yall would stroke out if you knew how bosses spoke to me when I was young. He was certainly unprofessional and it’s good he was called out on it but some of the responses about this situation are a little extreme.

I don’t get the outrage

The guy apologized and took responsibility for it. I’m sure he can be an a-hole as a restaurant owner but I don’t think the guy’s life should be destroyed because of it. A lot of hypocrites are the ones to cast the first stone.

Yep, I looked it up as well.

Kinda sucks that someone can get entrapped by a telephone conversation being recorded by only one party without some kind of warrant or at least the other party's knowledge and/or acknowledgement .

But, hey we are in Louisiana so there you have it. So beware.

Now if you want see how far certain segments American society has fallen, check out this thread on the PT Board.

Wait. That's considered verbal abuse? We live in a time when people can turn something into anything.

"If you can work days work them if you can't get another fricking job you understand me?"

"It aint like yall are hot or have good attitudes or its not like your not replaceable"

So because he has some shite employees people want him to resign? Why does shite make the news? An employer having a conversation with shite employees. If that's the worse someone told you then maybe you need more people telling you shite so you will be a better employee.
