Question I have is if they're giving out free days off of school then why does the school year run long because of snow days?

Yep.

For snow days he entire school is closed

Well that's not really the point. If schools are saying it's ok to take 5-10 days off for whatever, evidently the school year is too long as it is.

Now, public schools do cause a lot of anxiety in kids. I'm looking forward to the day when they become obsolete.

When people just dont care enough anymore and aren't worried about education? Cause the other possibility isnt going to happen any time soon.

Actually, I don’t recall the last time I took a day off besides a holiday. I believe in hard work.

I’ll never understand this brag.

No it's not. That's pure PR.

Multinationals and billionaires drive this country. You're fooling yourself if you think otherwise.

High school is not so difficult that a kid should need a “mental health” day.

It doesn’t matter to me if a student is in the classroom or not.

I would like them to be there.

But all that matters to me is performance. If they can make A’s without being present in my class, then so be it.

But don’t come whining to me when you make a D or worse... or if you get caught cheating. It will be a short conversation.

Would you rather them shoot up a school? Mental health is a serious issue in this country. It doesn't make you more "manly" to pretend it isn't.

My school district has been ranked one of the best school districts in the state for about 30 years now.

How many parents lie to the school saying their kid is sick so that they can go do something?

What is the difference if the kid is mentally ill or just has a run of the mill stomach virus? Sick is sick. The parents don't have to be psychoanalyst to make a diagnosis of the root cause of the concern for the school.

The mom could be keeping the boy home because of an Oedipous compelx, is it really the home room teachers business?

Because they still have to have a set number of instructional days by state/federal law.
