I suspect a lot of these days are going to be taken a day or two before an exam.

Mental health is important, but I don't see why they can't just be included in the usual number of sick days.

I would have had 4 mental health days in Friday’s that just so happened to correspond to LSU away games.

ETA:
Is this designed for college kids or younger?
What is so wrong with middle-high school kids that they need mental health kids? Im only 31 and I didn’t have a single day of mental anguish until I got to college

Actually, I don’t recall the last time I took a day off besides a holiday. I believe in hard work.

I can only carry over 6 weeks each year....so if I don't take time off, I lose the rest

Students already get mental health days. It’s called summer, Christmas and spring break.

I used to work with a girl who would "call in tired". Not sick...just tired. But she was hot, so we just went with it.

So this applies to all levels of school in Oregon not just colleges? So if my 5 yr old is acting like an arse that day, he can't take a mental day?

Yes, because contrary to popular belief, school is not that difficult.

It really isn’t. But people crumble at the first sign of adversity now

There is literally nothing wrong with this.

Too many professors try to compensate easy classes with strict attendance rules.

I’ve been in multiple classes where missing more than a couple of days from class will deny you an A no matter how well you perform on examinations.

Taking a top level policy to ensure a little breathing room is 100% fine by me.

It's a retarded way of just giving kids PTO. The name will actually create a stigma

Just call it what it is.

A "mental health day?" nah. It's PTO. If you want to go fishing, go fishing. It's not PTO

Is this a K-12 policy or not? Universities set their own attendance policies.
