Wait a week or so to make sure ticket is on file at DAs office. Then either call or go to office and ask if there is an option to pay a fine but keep ticket off of record for insurance purposes. I’ve never heard of a DA office refusing to lower the charge to non moving and letting you pay a court cost fine. Usually around $125-$225 depending on parish. It’s not a big deal to get it done so don’t worry too much about it.

I would hire a local attorney to get the ticket fixed. Showing up in the DA's office with cash to get it reduced to non-moving might also work.

Is your wife good looking?

If so, just get her to blow the cop so that he doesn't show up for the hearing. Easy win!

Make Ayrton pay for the insurance hike. As long as you keep covering for him, his behavior won’t change.

Call the Parish Sheriffs Office, or DA and ask if they have a way to make it a non-moving violation.

All they're worried about is the revenue.

I’ve gone to court for my last 2 speeding tickets (Kenosha county WI and St Tammany LA) no lawyer and asked the prosecutor if there’s a way to avoid the ticket being reported.
St Tammany dropped my ticket to an “aggravated seat belt” ticket, same fine but non moving violation.
Kenosha dropped mine to a seatbelt ticket, lower fine and non moving violation.

Moral of the story just send him to court and have him fend for himself, worst case he pays his ticket and learns a lesson. Likely will avoid a moving violation.

In Alabama there is a one time defensive driving class an offender passes, takes the record to the court date, and the ticketed offense is absolved. This keeps it off his driving record and away from the insurance company.

Don’t waste the article 8-97 on a speeding ticket. Save it for his first DWI.

So, you told your teenage son it was ok to speed a little bit and now you are surprised he went a little faster?

My Audi varies by 1 mph at most over the setting on cruise control and at times that's going over the mountains in Maryland and West Virginia.

Plea bargain to a non-moving violation. You can't "fix" tickets in Lafayette but you can plea to a non-moving and pay the same amount.

I got popped for a 56 in a 45 this morning. New route to new job and it was 5:30am.. didn’t see the chance in speed limit

I was intentionally going a hair over the speed limit to NOT get a ticket

Send a letter asking for help on the ticket to the DA often times they will reduce it to a nonmoving violation.

Too late for the best option which would have been birth control so you didn't have a son as dumb and trashy as you
