I have a 2013 with the 5.7 hemi and 4x4. Have 110,000 miles on it and haven't had a single issue. A lot of those miles have been pulling a boat as well.

All of the full size trucks are good these days. However, I deal with a lot of dealerships because of a small business I own. When I go to the different dealerships, a Dodge/Ram is always in getting a motor replaced under warranty several times a week. At a Ford or Chevrolet house it is very, very rare.

Dodge historically known to have transmission problems. not sure if that is still the case. friend of mine has one and I like it. solid truck that drives well with pretty good gas mileage for full size truck. (Nissan Titans get the worst mpg) if you live in DFW area - or willing to go there to pick one up - I highly recommend driversselect.com LINK

Had a 2011 Ram Sport for three years/60k miles. Not a single issue with the truck. Crappy resale though.

In 1997 yes. Not today. My dad drives a 2013 F-150 and my 13 Ram has had much less problems than his.

I drive a 2017 for work and a 2015 personal. Love them both. Never had a problem.

To sum up thus far, the folks that own them love them and have had little to no problems. The folks that don't think they are pieces of shite.

Looked into them last year but the crappy resale value kept me away. At this point, all the major truck companies are putting out quality vehicles.

My '15 is a better truck overall than the GMC Sierra it replaced.

I agree that the resale is detrimental. I used it to my advantage and purchased the truck used for a great price.

It is my intention to drive the truck 6 more years so resale is not exactly on my list of disqualifiers for the RAM.

At this point, it is a good solid truck with a reliable drivetrain. Main issue is they are a bit outdated compared to the GM and Ford offerings. Can likely get a good deal on one in the coming year since the redesign is due out next year.

I wouldn’t have an issue buying one (I currently own a 2015 actually), but you should definitely test drive all of the half tons before deciding.

ETA: Make sure to get the hemi + 8 speed if you decide to go with a Ram.

Very thirsty and very expensive when it comes time for a tune up or whatever.

For a 1/2 ton truck, all things considered you can't beat the Silverado.
