What slightly disturbs me the most about this is that some of you likely really believe that times were better back in the old days when you could just lynch 'em up without a peep? Now, we have to have all of these conversations about the ethics behind it and laws.

Checked the local news outlets and it turns out the NASCAR fans can relax. The national media is playing up the Hall of Fame thing but, in reality, nothing happened there. They tried to get in but failed. The huge windows are safety glass and they shattered one with a street sign but couldn't pry it out of the frame and never got into the building. They did get into the BWW which is attached but doesn't access the interior of the Hall of Fame. Sad that the media is playing this up though.
I was just over there for a conference and the downtown area is very nice. Sad that it is getting torn up.

Not at all. But tell the facts and don't sensationalize the story for more clicks. Breaking a window is not looting the Hall. That's a fact.
One site mixed up the facts from the Tulsa shooting with the NC one and said the Female Charlotte officer fired after the man tried to reach back into the car but the window was up. How can a journalist make that mistake?

The board stressed that the dynamic in North Carolina is different from that of other states because of at least four specific factors:
•North Carolina laws invalidate any local law that treats sexual orientation as a protected class or has a purpose to prevent discrimination against lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender individuals.
•North Carolina has the only statewide law that makes it unlawful to use a restroom different from the gender on one’s birth certificate, regardless of gender identity.
•North Carolina law provides legal protections for government officials to refuse services to the LGBT community.
•Five states plus numerous cities prohibit travel to North Carolina for public employees and representatives of public institutions, which could include paid protestors. These states are New York, Minnesota, Washington, Vermont and Connecticut.
