I have never seen any of those gentlemen before in my life, yet I wholeheartedly endorse whatever message that they are about to espouse on the subject of Skynard Oakland.

I was born a good bit after this sadly. Looks like a great fricking time, all the women look so.. normal. Weird not to see any of the disgusting slobs that are so frequent today.

Overplayed is the word you’re looking for. Same with Sweet Home Alabama.

Both are straight fricking bangers in moderation.

Pretty sure you’d recognize the guy on the far right. He was in the movie blood sport if I’m thinking correctly.

FYI: Ronnie was always barefoot on stage. He liked to feel the music.

When I was playing gigs in high school (bass, and guitar, various bands) I always played barefoot. Not because I was trying to do a schtick, I just played better. Something about footware on me disconnected me from the spiritus mundi. I learned to deal with it as I matured and started wearing shoes like a normal person.

Free Bird live was a different animal.

This. I saw them on that tour. First concert I ever went to and the best. Peter Frampton headlined the tour, but the crowds were there for Skynyrd. People started leaving after Skynyrd was finished.

Ronnie Van Zant who in the earlier years was known as a perfectionist was now just an ill tempered a-hole.

Gotta side with Ronnie here. I’d be an ill tempered a-hole too if I had to deal with the habits those guys had.

Not at all what I have read or watched in any documentary regarding the band. If Ronnie didn’t want a piano, there would be no piano.

The story I've heard told by various people is Powell was a roadie and Ronnie didn't know Billy Powell played piano. I think the story is one day they were setting up the equipment for a show and the venue had a house piano sitting off stage and Powell was playing, Ronnie heard Powell playing and was impressed with his keyboard skills and after Powell played with the band during some practice sessions he was asked to join the band.

WTH happened to the state of California over the course of those 46 years? Really sad for anyone who cares at all about our country.

Amnesty for illegals happened. Regan signed it in the late 80’s in exchange for securing the border. Literally flipped the electorate over night by adding millions of now legal democrat voters to the state. Regan never got his secure border and by 1992 Dems flipped the state blue where it has remained ever since.

At least he didn't say Alabama. Most people not from the south think they are from Alabama.
