I’ll name it “OT Baws Law”

1st OT Baws Law… Of public cell phone use: The lower the IQ the higher the speaker volume.

Case in point…there is a couple sitting across from each other in the same restaurant as me having lunch. Both of them are scrolling social media with each of their phones speakers at full blast so everyone can hear them.

I have to wonder does this start with one on low volume and the other turns theirs up a bit to drown out the sound from their partners and this goes back and forth until both have their speakers on full blast creating a cacophony of sound disturbing everyone within a 50’ radius.

This is not just applicable to cell phone volume. The lower the IQ, the louder they are everywhere all the time.

The volume maxes out so they can hear their baby momma and the video at the same time.

The restaurant should tell them to turn it down if it is disturbing other customers.

I'm assuming Coutler's Law is in effect for your description of the offenders. Correct?

Don't forget the Boomer Coefficient.
B=1+((A-30)/40)²

This means:
V=KB/IQ

Where..
A=age
V=volume
K=universal ringtone constant
IQ=Intelligence Quotient
B=Boomer Coefficient

My very old mother uses "racket", whether it is a tone, pop, whistle, or any variety of noise. If it's a bird chirping or the TV going loudly, it is still a racket.

Perhaps I will teach her to use "cacophony" instead.

May be an age thing as well. My 80 year old dad has his speaker on full blast while he still holds the phone to his ear.

This was certainly not an age/health related matter.

#2. If you are in a line for 10 or more minutes wanting to order take out from a cafeteria on a Sunday after church, do not step up to the cashier and immediately turn your head to scan the menu posted on the wall.

Do not get into a discussion about why they don't have the sweet potato pie, because "You always have the sweet potato pie and I've been thinking about it all morning".

Do not get the cashiers attention while I have prepped to order my selections with cash in hand and holler at her "Is that sliced ham, like baked with pineapple chunks on top, is it sliced on ham with a bone"?

Don't get me wrong, my ire frequently turns into levity. There is humor in the absurd.

For women, there also seems to be a relationship between fingernail length and speakerphone volume.

For those five inch fake fingernails, everyone in the building gonna hear this argument.

#5. You have to be a thoroughly disgusting person to leave your fried chicken plastic clamshell filled with bones, on the shelf with the Oreo's.

We need to Publicly shame and bully people that act like asshats in public. Only way we can ever attempt to fix things.
