These organisms must have huge digestive systems. That’s a lot of farts.

We aren't even sure if Earth is round or flat and you think we can hear a house party on a exoplanet that is over 12 parsecs away?

That's nothing when you think about it. I know a guy with a ship that did the Kessel Run in 12 parsecs. It's a freighter too, though a bit modified.

That's a bold statement considering that life has NEVER been found to exist anywhere else. Not one single time. (Unless you know something the rest of us don't.)

How can we sample the atmosphere of a planet 120 light years away but still have places with no cell phone service in America?

Because of reasons.

It’s not too far away either.

Just the total distance light can travel in one year multiplied by 120.

In one year, light can travel about 5.88 trillion miles

Zero proof exists. You alien life believers are amusing. Is it possible, sure, but not very probable

Given the vastness of space and the sheer number of opportunities out there, I find the idea that life (in any form) has only ever existed on Earth to be less probable.

A single cell organism popping up 20 million years and then dying out 20 reproductive cycles later because of a tidal shift would satisfy “there has been life on other planets”.

I would venture that type of thing has happened countless times. Where earth is perhaps the outlier is that the spark took and quickly grew strong enough that nature couldn’t snuff out the flame.

is actually more likely that we are alone in the universe. The universe is a violent hellish place. For the exact right set of conditions to either create or sustain life is almost mathematically impossible

Can’t wait to find out for sure hundreds of years from now

I wonder if the god who created their life knows our god

With current technology it would take over 80,000 years to travel there.

We would have to figure out how to travel 5x the speed of light for it to even be possible to send humans there. Would take 25 years

That planet orbits its star every 33 days. I don’t know how that’s considered the Goldilocks Zone.

Mercury orbits every 88 days.

One of my favorite movies growing up was Stargate. I’m now starting to wonder if we will have something like that by the time I die.

The NGO's will try to ban Dimethyl sulfide on over there.

From an Internet search:
Dimethyl sulfide (DMS, CAS 75–18-3). It is both an irritant and neurotoxicant that may be life-threatening because of accidental release. The effects of DMS on public health and associated public health response depend on the exposure concentration and duration.

We've only looked at a tiny portion of the universe.

I've heard SETI astronomer Seth Shostak make the analogy that if you pulled a bathtub full of water out the ocean and didn't find any fish, that doesn't mean there are no fish in the ocean.
