I would advise if you have insurance never go there. In waiting room with my mother with probable broken arm for 5+ hours still no doctor. On the plus side every prisoner in EBR has come and gone. I forgot how much of a mess this hospital is. We have insurance and will never darken the doors in here again.

The general is the best in BR

But you could have went to surgical specialty and saw the Baton Rouge orthopedic clinic after hours

The rule of the ER is that those who complain the most deserve the least.

The place is an absolute shithole. BRPD has to post up there because of OLOL’s wonderful crowd.

was there last week with my mom and actually went pretty smoothly

some new things since last time i was there
- you have to go thru a metal detector upon entering
- every patient can only have 2 people in the waiting room in a 24 hour period. the same 2 people. no switching people in and out. they scan your ID, take your picture and make you wear a sticker with the picture on it

If it’s broke today, it will be broke tomorrow. Unless it’s an open fracture, go see an ortho tomorrow. It’s not like the ER is going to do more than splint it tonight. Go get her a sling and get her comfortable.

It might need reduction. No one here knows if it does or not, including OP.

Just have a little chest pain, it could be anxiety it could be something else...

Just curious, as I would never go to a regional ED unless I had life-threatening issues, I would always go to a smaller satellite. Wouldn't it be better to go to the one in Ascension on 30?

OLOL is terrible. Really, really, really terrible. It's depressing, actually. Horrendous, horrible, bad. The worst. Not very good at all.

I called one of the after hours and they said due to her age (80+) they recommended taking her to an emergency room. I usually go the after hours clinics for treatment.
