None of us had seen Cartoon Network before college. This guy got addicted. He'd stay up all night watching Droopy D, then go raise the flag at the Pike house at 6AM and pass out. His first semester GPA was 0.0. Buckshot.
We had some good times while it lasted. Went to Nick's on (?) Tulane Ave. a couple of times. Dropped acid. Found out we had some friends in common, old Uptown New Orleans Italians. The guy was, well... connected.
Years later, I was wrapping up a long college career, I'm at Kinko's in the middle of the night getting my honors thesis bound. Who's working the counter but Pike Jeff- starting over from scratch, the poor, non-Pike way.
I'd grown up in the interim. Kid on the way, looking for good jobs. I'd done 4 semesters as a co-op student and was a completely different person. Pledging Pike set that kid back 5+ years.

Got two close Pike friends who are good guys, but yeah my friends and I jokingly give them shite for that. Yeah there are a bunch of good Pike, but if shite were to happen, it was almost always from them. I got on famously with most fraternities. Even the nerdy Delta Psi’s I had a good time because I couldn’t share my love of a anime (all Miyazaki) drinking game with my brothers.

As a fraternity member, frick these guys for making him do it.

The smart pledges defuse the situation with humor. Like when Omega Psi Phi whipped out that branding iron on me. I just whipped my dick out and peed on it while singing "Ol' Man River." The only thing greater than the volume of the laughter was the volume of steam released.
