Damn, the change from the 88 to 89 Cutlass was almost as bad as the change from the 69 to 70 Camaro.

Generally agree. But there was some badass sprinkled here and there. I love the 82-92 Camaro. If I could cruise around in an '87 IROC-Z with the t-top off blaring some Appetite for Destruction - i'd be living the dream.

My dad has a restored 1968 Cutlass Supreme. It was always a fun car to ride around in when I was a kid.

My very first vehicle was an all white '78 Cutlass Supreme. Burgundy interior complete with 8-track. White wall tires and white wheels. My Dad bought it for me from an elderly lady. Her son bought it for her and all she ever did was drive it to the grocery store and back. He bought it for $1000 because she could not drive anymore. I believe it had about 5000 miles on it when we got it. My Dad ended up totaling it on the Sunshine bridge on his way to work one morning because the bridge had frozen over and he got into a wreck.

My parents had an 82 Cutlass Supreme BROUGHAM. Body by Fisher, bitch.
Half vinyl top roof, crush-velour seats or whatever the hell it was, and a DIESEL ENGINE.
The engine was a total POS and killed Diesel in the US in a way no one thought possible, until VW said "hold my beer."

My mom had one in the late eighties. I happened to ask her when was the last time she had her oil changed. "Oh, I don't know." I checked the dipstick and it was like tar. No problems though. Changed the oil and it ran great for a few more years until she traded it in.

Those 442's were bad arse!
This one looks a lot like the 1976 Cutlass Supreme I used to have. Those rims are stock. We used to get the caps and chrome trims around the rim stolen. We'd just find another cutlass and steal them back. It was a perpetual cycle.
I loved these cars, but they had big problems with rusting at the bottom edge of the trunk and around the rear opera windows.

I had this royale 88. same lime green color. was 2nd car to get high and chill in without fricking up my regular vehicle.
