Trampoline place near Bonnabel and Vets (injury lawyers wet dream)
Brunings
Hot French bread at Schwegmanns (i’d eat half the loaf before leaving the store)
Popeyes pal packs (with the crappy green eraser as the prize)
Putt-putt by vets near Transcontinental (remember hitting my ball into the Burger King parking lot)
Super Popeyes on Vets
Camps in Little Woods
Maggie’s in West End, but just remember the cats around, don’t remember ever seeing it
Open

Nothing like water skiing on the lake in the naked. 
Swimming under the sea wall steps or crabbing off the.
Soaping out the fountains.
Great food at West End.
Lincoln Beach and having a camp close by was the tit's.
Fishing the Industrial Canal catching hundreds of trout and selling them was outstanding.
Sunday get togethers at City Park with families was on all the time.
Bike riding across the city was safe.
Diving off the top of Spanish Fort bridge was a must.
Fishing off I10 bridge before it was finished. Hundreds of people/families were out there all the time.
I could go on and on. The 1960's were great growing up in the city. Things started going down hill in the early 19970s.

My old man basically rebuilt all the old clay sewers throughout the quarter when he worked for Barrier Construction.
70s NoLa was glorious.

The 1950's and 1960's was New Orleans prime time. Early 1970's is when the city started going down fast. Problems between blacks and white started big time. Dope found it's way into the city big time due to I 10 opening up.

Lived less then a mile from the lake front. 
Grew up in Gentilly Woods. Oh, there is a Facebook group of Gentilly people.

Feliciana, about 10 houses off Stephen Girard, circa 71-73. Best neighborhood I ever lived in, and still keep in touch with a few old friends.

Ice cream at K&B counter, beer at Schwegmans bar, Barts on the lake Sunday night, The Point Saturday night, catching unlimited croaker off the seawall,Haunted house on Milne Blvd, drag racing on Wisner Blvd every weekend, cruising Lakeshore drive picking up chicks,Sid Mars, Fitzgeralds, Chimes at West End, the Bounty, leaving Kenny Vincents Southside at 11am....parades in Gentilly, Scandals..Lenfants, Fun Arcade on Vets
