It's not country. I don't care if you put 2 billy ray cyrus's in it, it doesn't make it country.
It's a rap song with a red dead redemption 2 theme.
And billy ray is the biggest sell out in all of music, anywhere.

I honestly hadn't heard that song until recently.
I just googled it to listen to it for this thread. If you have Sirius it's pretty easy not to be up to date on new music even if you don't live under a rock

Fun song. Good for him. It’s not exactly country. But fun.

Longest running #1 hits in Billboard Hot 100 history (weeks):
Old Town Road 17
One Sweet Day 16
Despacito
I Will Always Love You 14
I'll Make Love to You
Macarena
Candle in the Wind 1997
We Belong Together
I Gotta Feeling
Uptown Funk
End of the Road 13
The Boy Is Mine
All of those songs are fun, too. None of them is worth a good shite, but they’re fun. Isn’t that the important thing?

It is not everywhere. I did not hear it until late June and even then it was because kids were going to a camp and we were debating songs they would play. They knew it, but the wife and I did not.
It is not a bad song, but its reign at #1 is probably more of a statement to the lack of quality music being produced now in the digital age and not the quality of the song.
I know "get off my lawn", but the sound and quality of the late 60s, 70s, 80s, and early 90s really stand above what is being released today.
The boy bands of the 90s were the beginning of the end, however hopefully we will get us a defining moment soon

My man, folks my age legit thought the Macarena was a bad arse.
I’ve not met a single human of voting age who thinks that’s actually a good tune

Yeah, but how much fortnite are they playing?
Well they love to build walls, so they are probably Trump voters.

Oh Summer of 1992. Every school in the country made it their class song. I remember hearing it every 15 minutes on a vacation to The Blue Ridge Mountains.
