MFP didn't die.

I assume he still calls into radio shows. I know his family. He has an accounting degree, but he is... IDK.. Maybe autistic. He aint right..

He use to call into Jordy's show.. He would be one of the first callers first thing in the morning.

A friend of mine told me one time he had some nationally broadcasted radio show on.. It was about 9:30PM - 10PM. I think the show was out of New York or something...

Anyway, my friend said he was sort of half arse listening while he was doing something else.. And all of a sudden the host says "Next up.. Mike from Pla.. Plaqu..Plaque-mine?". It was like in January and MFP had an Astros question for the dude.

Thanks for that. I was actually a bit sad when I saw someone posted that he had. I remember somebody on here submitted a wikipedia entry for him that was up for a good while.

who was the one who used to play his team's fight song in the background? I remember him calling and playing the Florida State chant. I think they called him "Florida State Charles" or something - had a voice like an old black man

That was Charles the Astrologer. He had a different "favorite" team every year.

I think it was around 1995, that radio host Bruce Hunter said that Dennis Erickson to LSU was a done deal. What happened to Bruce and why did he leave BR ?

Moscona producing for Songy was peak sports radio.

Funniest thing I ever heard on local radio. Some guy with a heavy Plaquemine area accent calls in and gets into an argument with Buddy. Then says “oh... you a pussy Buddy. Yeah you a pussy Buddy. You a pussy...”and he keeps going. Buddy starts screaming “SCONE. SCONE. CUT ‘EEM OFF! CUT ‘EEM OFF! SCONE! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?”
By the time it was over I was laughing so hard I don’t remember what else Buddy said to Scone but he was pissed and fussed at him good.

HW was also a one man band. Played at a party I attended on False River years ago.
