Runnin around robbing banks all wacked off of Scooby Snacks.....

If any of you happen to have any baseballs "signed" by Skip Bertman from the mid 90's, I can introduce you to my friend whose job as a student worker was to sign a 5 gallon bucket of balls each day at work.....

If you don't see them sign with your own eyes, they didn't sign it.
I survived the Alex Box rain storm June 10, 2023.
No way Jay, err, NCAA officials make us play at 1:00.
My mom grew up in a house close to him. Her favorite story was him coming home one time (after he was big and famous), having a bad day. She told me he had a big fancy Cadillac that he drove to the middle of the soybean field between their house and hers, poured gasoline all over it, and lit it on fire. She told me her house shook when it exploded. She had no idea why he did it, other than to say "that was just Jerry Lee, he was crazy".

Last SEC baseball title was 2017?

Was just wondering the last time LSU won the regular season title in baseball.
If I looked at things correctly, it was in 2017, LSU went 21-9.

Since then: (wins, final place)

2018 - 15, tied for 7th
2019 - 17, 5th
2020 - COVID
2021 - 13, tied for 8th
2022 - 17, 4th
2023 - 19, 3rd
2024 - 13, 7th
2025 - Currently tied for 3rd with 15 wins

Just a bit surprising that LSU hasn't even finished runner up in SEC standings in the last 8 seasons. (Florida and Arkansas both won 20 in 2023, so maybe 19-10 was sort of runner up up?)

Not sure anybody's catching Texas this season, but a runner up finish would help offset the lower RPI, I would think? 20 wins would definitely be an accomplishment in this year's league.

Here's hoping the bats rise from the ashes and a little Box magic for the weekend before hitting the road against a 5 win team to finish strong.

Looks like lightning delay.
This could be a long night, they have a LOT of games to get in before tomorrow.
My dad and I used to catfish running slat traps in the Ouachita River around Enterprise. There was a guy who lived in a trailer near there who kept a 55 gallon drum of catfish bait. The bait consisted of various expired cheeses he would procure from the local grocers. Just think of a barrel full of rotten cheese roasting in the Louisiana summer heat for months.

When he opened that lid, I questioned whether I'd ever eat another catfish again.

I'm just surprised anyone in Sicily Island would accept Euro's as payment. I would have expected them to accept a pack of cigs, some Skoal, or maybe a tiny bit of crystal meth or something.

Here's a good little pick me up song for anyone needing help to wake up on this Monday morning.

Oooooooo ooooo ooooo ooooo whhoooaaaooooooooo, tell me that I'm dreamin', I'm dreamin'
Oooooooo ooooo ooooo ooooooooo, don't you stop me from believing, I'm dreamin'

When I was 15, drove to the "city" myself for one of the first times to see them in concert in Alexandria, Bayview Yacht Club maybe? Anyway, after the concert, me and my buddies were cruising Jackson St, and I rear ended somebody in my Chevy S-10, tore up the whole front end of my truck. Spent the night in the Alexandria police office waiting on my dad to get home from fighting forest fires to come pick me and my buddies up.
Haven't heard that song in a long long time - thanks for that.

Probably more than a hundred times.

My dad was a forester, grew up with the second tallest one in Louisiana literally in my backyard.

Tree service are insane range of quote. I have a tree that needs removal and my quotes ranged from 3,800 to 9,000.

I second this. Got 3 quotes from 3 licensed/insured/reputable companies in Baton Rouge. $3500, $1600, and $800 - for removal of the same exact tree. I chose the $800 quote, it took them a few weeks to get to me, but did the job well.
Once in the 90's, around Christmas time, I met a homeless girl at the mall. Funny story, I actually met her dad shaving in the public restroom first. He ended up passing out and being put in the hospital. A good friend of mine (former ex) actually bought her dad a sportcoat to help him find a job. After visiting him at the hospital, I invited the homeless girl to be in a Christmas play with a bunch of my friends at the mall. In the end, I guess I never really gave her much except some food, and a kiss (she was hot), but my dad did help her dad get a job.
I'm sure this is blasphemous to even consider - but does anybody think there's any chance Jasper "let" him win? Was just a little surprised that Phillipsen was on his wheel, but didn't have the power to pass him.
Maybe I'm reaching a bit, just wondered if the thought crossed anyone else's mind...
No more Chris Horner for NBC/Peacock. Teejay VG replaces him.
I know there was a lot of hate for Horner, I personally didn't mind him.

Looks like Mother Nature finally won - house is gone.

Bye Bye house
I had this happen two weeks ago. Early 20's applicant, dad brought her to interview. But instead of staying in the car, he comes in and hangs out in the lobby (while she's interviewing in the back) spilling to staff about how immature and irresponsible his daughter is, but he's "proud of her anyway".

She was not offered the job.

If you haven't listened to his post game presser, you should.

Basically, there was an attempted steal of home a couple days ago they saw on film that the catcher stepped in front of/on the plate. So when his batter got down two strikes, and two outs in the inning, he purposely sent his runner, knowing he would likely be thrown out, but counting on getting the balk call from the umpire.

Playing 3D chess, that guy.

But sucks for him, he doesn't have Steven Freaking Milam, does he?

Geaux Tigers!
