I was just about to say this. Apparently, this is a universal behavior in every gym in every state. Always a good experience walking into the locker room to get your gym bag after a basketball game to see a 65 year old man fully naked with one leg hiked up just air-blasting his nutsack/taint

Back in the day, a guy I know was in the Lochinvar Golf Club in Houston.
No women allowed on the premises.
Watched an naked 70+ year old hit up the buffet line.

Literally stumbled across (you will have to believe me here) a nude beach in San Diego after hiking a trail I found in a guide book. All the women were covered. All the young people were covered. The only naked people were men over 60.
sidebar: saw one black guy there, and I must say as the first one I have ever seen in person (I'm a woman) I was not impressed. It did not meet my expectations.

Many of the old guys at Francos shower with the shower curtain open and there are only two reasons for that type of stuff to occur; you either want people to see you naked OR you want to be naked and look at other people. There is no reason to NOT put on underwear at least.

I am a member of Red Lerille's in Lafayette and the men's locker room has only old men naked. It's gross.

It's because back in their day everyone walked around locker rooms naked without giving it a second thought.
Locker rooms didn't have individual show stalls instead there were multiple poles with four shower heads on each pole. Or multiple shower heads spaced a few feet apart along a wall.
People would go into hot tubs and saunas naked as well. Somewhere in the 2000's it changed and the Boomers either didn't get the memo or didn't care because that's how they did it for years.
Hell when I was in the Army field latrines would have multiple shitters in a line but no stalls around them to separate you from the guy taking a dump two feet away.
I'm not saying the old way is right just trying to give some perspective to changing of times.

Waaaay back in the day, mid 70s, I joined a YMCA. It was an old building and was built in the 40s maybe. I played some pickup basketball and then changed in a swimsuit to do some laps. To my horror, I found an old guy swimming laps really slow but was naked. I went to the front desk and told them about the naked guy. I was told that he was one of the guys who established and built the place so he can swim naked if he wants to.
I did not swim there. Yes, the old men walked around with droopy everything all the time.

I once saw an old man in a 24hr fitness sit on the counter (butt naked) where the sinks are...place his feet in the air right underneath the wall mounted hand dryer to dry them. (You know the hand dryer on the wall where you push button and dry your hands right after you wash them...yeah, he was drying his feet)

I'm 42 and I'm there now. DGAF about it hanging out. I certainly will keep to myself. Not going to walk up to anyone and try to kick off a conversation with my leg up on the bench or anything. I want to be comfortable at the day spa gentleman's locker and spa room. Certainly not try to impress anyone. Signed a lifetime contract with the wife; married for 12 year. Don't like it? Blame the Creator, not me. I didn't design this thing.

I feel like back in the day locker rooms, saunas, etc used to be a completely non-sexual environment. Now that we are aware of just how many people might actually be staring at your junk the vibes are different.
