Growing up in the 90s was the life. The joys of playing basketball outside only to take time to watch the NBA on NBC on the weekends…Roundball Rock!

Super Soakers, waking up and staying out til past sunset with the occasional check ins at home.

Spending hours at the mall going store-to-store and getting picked up by parents or friends parents hours later.

Studying extensively which of the 100+ CDs from the album I was going to listen to next, whether in the car or on the Discman.

So many things to list. I’m about to be 40, and this adulting thing forever sucks.

I miss growing up in N.O. and being able to drink without being carded.

Of course, the drinking age still being 18 didn't hurt.

70s... Taco Bell and the 70s.

80s...Taco Bell and the 80s

90s...radio stations that were still playing pretty good music and talk radio stations that weren't mostly commercials and on air plugs. NPR was even good back then.

I miss getting to the school gym for PE and the lights weren’t on. It would take like 10-15 minute for the lights to get bright after turning on the switch.

The non internet world where you actually had to go outside or read real books to occupy your time. This shite has infiltrated everyone’s lives and it’s cancer. It’s also impossible to shelter yourself or your kids from.

Also…malls were the shite.

I miss Dixie most of all.

I loved Dixie! My father was from Louisiana and an LSU fan and my mother was from Mississippi and an Ole Miss fan (A house divided lol) I, of course, made the proper decision, and followed my father. However, always loved listening to Dixie. Loved hearing the Ole Miss band playing it. Great times!

Definitely wasn’t 2012 because we got rid of him a decade before that
The cartoon caricature of him was still up high on the V-H facade until at least 2010. It was removed between Summer of 2010 and Summer of 2012.

Anyone else go around home construction sites collecting discarded/scrap wood and bent nails to build a “fort”?
