"Bigger children took advantage of my child, you understand," Bryant said. "They made him do things, you understand. They overpowered him more than we had power over him. Everything he needed at home was at home. If he needed us we were always there. Yeah, they overpowered my child."

This country is in trouble...

anybody else re read that in the voice of Juvenille (the rapper) due to the dads use of "you understand".

Like the next line he says is , "my son is a rapper but still a guerilla, you understand"

If you can't control your 11 yr old you've got major problems. I wouldn't be surprised if the mom is a junkie and the dad hasn't seen the kid in months.

Some liberties were absolutely taken in that transcription and the writer didn’t use [SIC] like they should have I’m sure. #bookit

Dad wants to catch the other boys who made his kid do it..... yet he says he couldn’t catch his own kid. Ironic ain’t it!

Maybe reference car burglary in there so people might have a clue what 11 year old you are talking about without clicking a link.

I want to know their occupations and work hours. If they’re busting their arse working then I’ll cut them some slack. If they’re both or one on disability sitting at home then eff em.

That plus “it ain’t my fault” in the title had me checking the calendar to see what year I was in.

Well he’s a bad kid for sure. Whether that’s the parent’s fault is hard to say. Some kids are just harder to raise.

The dad was on WWL radio the other morning saying the kid got mixed up with the wrong crowd when he was 2-3 years ago when he'd go tap dancing and drumming on buckets to make money on Bourbon St. What kind of parent lets their fricking 8 year old go hangout on Bourbon Street to begin with, much less without parental supervision?
