Don't put much faith in someone who isn't a meteorologist or climatologist when they try to talk about weather or climate. They don't understand the complexities and oversimplify everything.

The rain is expected to start sometime this evening but never be too bad. The issue is that it looks like it will be enough to saturate things (at least in some areas). About an hour or so before the rain ends we get a transition to freezing rain, then get into a hard freeze until mid-morning.
The state will salt the bridges and overpasses, but surface streets will be on their own. Most of it should melt off during the hours above freezing tomorrow midday/afternoon (lots of wind but clear and sunny).
If people who don't absolutely have to go out tomorrow morning will just stay home for a few more hours, things should be fine.

When global warming started causing a weaker jet stream, thereby allowing more cold air from the artic to drift further south and cause more snow in the south.

Question about pools
Are you suppose to run the pump or shut it down?

I guess everyone is making up the recoded average temperatures that are going up every year. Why not. Sounds fun.

If you didn't winterize your pool (and by your question, I'm assuming you didn't) run it.

That’s my worry. Told all our employees who can to work from home tomorrow to just stay home and work.
I’m not sure when and how long we get above freezing. And if it melts, it gets way below freezing on Wednesday and do we have ice all over again?

DOTD has some in North LA, to try and keep main bridges open.
Currently about 15 degrees and 1/4-inch of sleet, possibly some icing on tops of tall pine trees, in southern Bienville Parish. Haven’t ventured far enough yet to check road conditions, as I cannot see road from my house.

Just a FYI, salt doesn’t work below 15 degrees.
Freezing rain/ice is the absolute worst. I’ll take a foot of snow over that shite.

There is so much wrong with your statement it is laughable.
The entirety of LADOTDs resources isn't enough to keep the I10 bridge and all elevated portions open in just EBR parish... Much less statewide.
As for for clear, windy, and sunny melting any ice
An extremely large portion of louisiana has fully shaded roadways. It took 4-5 days above freezing last time to melt the ice that accumulated on the roads.
