Or coming back from Mississippi this morning instead of waiting til Wednesday when she originally planned because “she doesn’t wanna get stranded all week” (High is almost 50 Wednesday so makes no sense.)
And of course timing it to get in right as the sleet and ice is starting

The entirety of LADOTDs resources isn't enough to keep the I10 bridge and all elevated portions open in just EBR parish.
We don't get enough snow/ice events to build huge surpluses of materials, but to say that the entirety of LADOTD's resources couldn't even keep EBR's elevated roadways open is simply ridiculous.
Feel free to post how much the state has in resources and how much would be needed to handle just EBR to prove your point. I'll wait.

I love these, and the complete randomness of them when forecasting precip for an area.

Just got a really nice rain shower here in NW Calcasieu. 2 degrees away from it being a complete cluster thank goodness.

Also gotta love people that take what the phone says as bible. My in laws are the worst at it. Says it won’t rain till such and such time… just look at a damn live radar and notice the trend.

Well, it's 11:24 and damned if it isn't still snowing a little. Phone lied. Can I sue Apple?

HRRR has really been ramping up the freezing rain totals for MS and AL over the last few hours. Shows totals of 0.21" for Birmingham. 0.25" is Ice Storm Warning criteria. Not saying that we will see that much or that an Ice Storm Warning will be issued, though.

The worst is when they use it for sporting events.
Lightning and thunder happening, but they won't cancel because the phone says otherwise.

Crap apps are most of the reason why the general public believes most forecasts are inaccurate.

Totally agree. These apps, particularly the ones built into a phone, use generic data to make their "forecasts." There is no critical thinking or reasoning that goes into it.

Yep, they just slap the model data into a database and the database extrapolates the forecast data to your location.
The most inaccurate ones are the ones that show rain in Southeast Louisiana at 3 pm in the summer when we have spotty showers. It could rain a my house but a few miles away you are bone dry.
