He had a reason to fight with the cops he knew he had warrants and didn’t want to go to jail that’s why he tried to flee.

Maybe it should be the second question after the obvious, “how the frick does one kill a man with a gun and say ‘oopsie poopsie, thought it was the taser!’?

Maybe your day job should be fighting people with weapons warrants. And oh by the way, don’t make a mistake in defending yourself or you will be on trial for murder.

The problem is the actions that started altercation when adrenaline isn’t pumping, not what happens in the heat of a life or death altercation.

You entered this thread and quickly made the assumption that his car was left in drive and that’s why he attempted to re-enter the vehicle.

Bodycam Footage

This lady is not fit for her job. Fire her. Pulling a gun instead of a taser is not an acceptable "oops my bad moment".

However, I err towards the side that no criminal charges will be charged on her imo. We've seen enough videos where someone under arrest runs inside the car to pull a weapon. The shooting would have been justified imo. But the whole shooting on accident thing makes it much harder to defend.

The narrative will be...

No one deserves to die over an expired registration.
No one deserves to die over an air freshener

Totally ignoring the fact he intentionally and very deliberately tried to fight people with guns whose job it is to detain him.

When you fight people with guns sometimes accidents happen. Be responsible for your own actions and don’t fight people with guns.

I feel bad for the cop. She’s spent her life doing a hard, dangerous job for the benefit of the community. An idiot does an idiot thing, puts her in a tough situation, and as humans can do she chokes in the moment. Lucky for me when I choke at my job I might lose my company a little money. For her it can be life or death in either direction. If we want cops we have to be forgiving of them in these situations, absent other evidence/factors that show they were reckless or intentional.

I would rather have 100 of this cop in my society than 100 of the criminal she shot.

f she really thought she had a taser, this tells me she didn’t aim it at all because it would have been very obvious it was a glock and not a taser had she actually attempted to aim.

Part of me wants to think that one would instantly know the difference in feel (from touch) of a tazer vs a gun. She may have been so focused on the suspect that it didn't register.

That's correct, I was just making a guess based off of the vague police report in the op. I didn't state such as fact. Obviously that's not what actually happened.

I agree.
WHile the idiots would still be out crying about BLM b/c of this, the fact that she mistakenly shot him makes it worse. Would have been better if she just shot him b/c that's what she meant to do.
She had every right to shoot him after what he did imo, although the majority of this country thinks cops shouldn't shoot a criminal until after the criminal kills a cop.

so why does Fox news have a picture of all white males as the LEOs involved???

And yet not one white male is involved in this. This is the classic way to cause issues. Just assume it's racism as a basis of fact until proven wrong. Meanwhile that story is already fact in most peoples minds because they saw that picture and never read the actual detail.

MSM including FOX NEWS is what is wrong with country.

She was focused on the target because her partner was between her and the criminal and they were scuffling.

Agreed.

Yeah, I'd almost rather be killed by a bad cop intentionally than a well-intentioned, competent one negligently.

Sir, this is 2021.

Maybe, but with the bodycam footage, it will be IMPOSSIBLE to get over the accidental part. She meant to tase him. She actually shot and killed him. Now, they can't get her for murder, but I bet she damned well will plead to something.

Virtually impossible.

Every cop just needs to quit. Let everything turn into a CHAZ zone. I think that’s the only solution.

Then when honest hardworking people have had enough of the pain and suffering at the hands of thugs we can all come to the table and talk reasonably.

You can’t discuss this with the left right now. They are raptured by a religion of wokeness.

Google “ man shot with gun instead of taser”. It happens frequently.

This incident brought to mind the reserve deputy that shot the guy in Tulsa 2015.

He was a rich insurance guy who liked to play “ cops”.
