That's an overreaction by the company. That sort of stuff happens at times. Better to ban shots, which is the way losers drink, than limit drinks like your employees are children.

No he didn’t get fired. He is a very squared away guy, and excellent at his job. I don’t know what this situation was all about with this girl

And to you assholes asking why I brought up his and her race it was only a description to help you get a visual. Because i did not mean to bring up anything racial about the situation at all. There is nothing racial at all about it

I asked my wife if there were any more details and she said the girl was just his date, not a pro, not a stripper and is much younger than him. He is about 29, she is about 21 and apparently just immature.

I worked for a company now owned by Symantec and their parties were bad. Shitty meal, no open bar, and an annoying AF guy randomly giving shite away in between sets by an amateur DJ. The best part of it was the characterization artists which posed away an hour saying in line. The next year we left after the meal and passed the drink tickets on to the chick who had my back when they made us fly cross country dodging hurricanes in '04. (Got verbally attacked by the angry black woman of the traveling team for leaving to go two blocks down for gas and not wearing for them... which she blaming on me going that I was like Rosa Parks because they stuck me in the back seat while one of her crew sat in 1st class... and I got wrote up for that bullshite. I still don't see where that was wrong to joke about.) For the summer party they went from a big party in Cocoa Beach where most of us got rooms and enjoyed an open bar + buffet to a f'ing water park down in the tourist part of Orlando... we didn't even stay for drinks or the meal there.

The company only got worse after the merger in '05. No longer allowed to keep our office doors closed. Then some got fired for BS reasons before they made everyone left choose between a move to the northwest or a severance package. We had enough to pay for a move and COBRA between jobs.

Good story and kinda funny too, unless you're that dude.

I have a somewhat similar story from a company Christmas party about 20 years ago. It was held at a large hotel with an atrium and conference center to give you scale of the party. I arrived late with my gf and two coworker friends and there were drunk people dancing around, spilling drinks from the moment we got situated. The main shindig was in a ballroom where there was a brass band and a rowdy acting frontman that wouldn't just shut up and sing the songs. The employees in attendance ranged from hourly hands to the entire executive team with their wives and some young kids.

After about an hour people started getting on the stage trying to sing karaoke to the mixer after the band quit playing. About two thirds of the 5 to 600 people had dispersed when then this one particularly obnoxious, drunk company chick runs on stage and grabs the mic. Wasted and pulling the microphone away from people trying to save her, she announced her name and talked some gibberish work related crap then boldly and merrily exclaimed that she wanted to blow every guy in the place and only to take a number and get in line. The sounds I heard around me couldn't be duplicated by any individual. It's where you see lights in your eyes and you feel like your on the verge of losing consciousness from laughing so hard. There were employees with their spouses, new hires, old folks and kids present. Family members and professionals. It was embarrassing to be seen walking out of there. She wasn't fired which is kinda interesting...but that was the last big company party.

Ha..they got her out of there pretty fast. It was actually a great party. I wished I had just been with the guys that night and gotten there earlier.

I think the company might have sent her to rehab, for the reasoning of keeping her job. She will never live that down though, that's for sure.
