Office Building rules... without people in them...

I have been to my office a total of maybe 3 times in 2 years, and only popping in and out. I admit, I don't know "the rules."

I went today to take some boxes from a trade show. Two boxes on a cart. The parking deck elevators spit you out 20 feet from the main elevators.

I wheeled my cart to the elevator lobby, and the security guard chased me down and quizzed me and dressed me down for daring to roll a cart across the lobby. I was literally the ONLY vehicle in the parking deck. There was not a soul other than me and the security guard in the entire 20 story building. The cart I was using had soft rubber wheels, there was no marking risk. The load was light. mostly empty prop packaging.

She told me I would have to contact building services to use the freight elevator. Guess what? Building services is not on site due to covid, and I'd have to wait for approval, take my cart to the loading dock, and then wait for them to come open the damn elevator. For 1 little cart that was already at the elevator I needed by the time she citizen arrested me.

I asked the heifer if I could just carry the boxes and get my job done, and let us all move on from this stupid bullshiat. So, I picked up the entire cart and boxes and walked to the elevator, where I put it on the floor...and rolled it from there to my office.

This person was ready to fight me, the only person in the building, and no date in sight for anyone to be in the building... over 20 feet rolling a suitable cart that weighed less than 20 lbs total.

I digress. Anyone have to deal with any inane bullshiat today?
