I tried the exact same thing and wish I had kept pushing for a spring wedding. Your anniversary celebration is going to be on or near the Bama game every year; you usually don't celebrate during the week.

Learn from this fool's mistakes. Retrieve your balls from your fiance's purse and have the wedding in the spring.

What's the problem with this? Unless you're marrying someone that doesn't like football, or at least acknowledge your over of the game, should you really be marrying them? You should be able to watch the game during whatever celebrating you're doing.

Can't you talk her into a different time of year? Chances are you will be ruining someones weekend by doing it during football season.

Don't get married during football season, period.

Your anniversary will eventually fall on a big game day.

I bet he has a reception that he will expect a bunch of friends and family to be at though.

spoken like an unmarried man

Pop Rouge told Sis Rouge flat out that he was not attending her wedding if she scheduled it on the date of an LSU home game.

The wedding was in mid-August.

If you scoff at 3+ hours of free booze and food and fun, you're a shitty person. Or here's a novel idea, don't go. It's not rocket surgery.

When I was getting married we tried to do a fall wedding.... It was a nightmare. Trying to dodge football games and then finding a free weekend.... On that weekend everyone was trying to get married. The demand for the venues was ridiculous. It's a giant pain. If you can block out all the horseshite and complaining that comes with a football season wedding, then go for it.

Married for almost 3 years. Wedding in the fall, by my choosing. Good call though.

You and everyone else. Don't be surprised when you get invited to weddings the same day as your own. You should wait til after the season ends IMO

Ok tough guy. Sorry for your loss, but that's a stupid thing to tell your daughter.

ETA: And I'm having a daughter and will never tell her something like that.

Be angrier. Apple must not have fallen too far.

So everyone invited to the wedding will be thinking this and feel obligated to go.. I would want my guests to want to be there. At least he's doing it on a bye week I guess.. should appease most.
