It's a bye week this year but unless your wife loves football you are going to miss a game for your anniversary every year.

Maybe they will go to the game for their anniversary? Seems like a great plan to me.

What if your significant other is upset that wedding guests are following the game or some have missed entirely, and becomes upset? Will you give a shite then ?

True. You aren't going to please everyone. We got married in April and it just happened to be the date of the LSU spring game. One friend joking bitched about that, but when we set the date a year earlier, we had no idea of that games date and quite frankly didn't really even think/care about it.

Hmmmm... You've revealed that you're a female. Your screen name has become very clear now as to the meaning. You're cool in my book. Unless you're homosexual, in that case I don't like it, but I'm going to believe that the original thought is true.

Practice? You're talking about practice?
My wedding coincided with the College World Series... LSU didn't make it that year, but we didn't even think about it.
There's almost always something.

You think they enjoyed it,
I know it for a fact actually. People still talk about it as recently as this past weekend.

And while it's their day, what's funny is how many others are included and have to spend money as well.
No relevance to anything, but OK.

Remember the thread a couple of days ago about the idiot who was having a cruise ship wedding and making his groomsmen buy their own tux. For it being just about two people, a whole bunch others had to jump through some hoops.
They could grow a set and say no if they don't want to be involved.

What's wrong with trying to be a little aware of scheduling conflicts.
Because there are scheduling conflicts at all times of the year. I'm not (or, I didn't) checking the calendars of 250 people to make sure my wedding didn't inconvenience them. That's dumb. If they can't make it, great. I don't care.

You can't make everyone happy but you can make most with that simple suggestion.
If you say so. I'm still picking the day that works best for the couple and their family over some football game. And I promise you I bleed purple and gold at least as much as you do.

Some fricking a-hole cousin of my wife has the nerve to be getting married at 7Pm this Saturday. Now I have to miss game 1 of the Super Regional. I'm so mad, how dare he not take my priorities into mind when scheduling his wedding?

I especially love that it's an annual thing, on several boars no less. tRant one should be coming up soon, mid July I imagine.

It's very relevant, you expect your guests to show up and watch the ceremony and enjoy the reception festivities. So there is a care and concern for other people being there. I went to a wedding in Natchitoches in '08 the night of LSU-Alabama. At the reception which was at some fancy house, the men found a TV in some office. They were packed in watching the game. You could see the bride was getting upset as they had to keep going get people to come participate.
And while yes, there is always going to be scheduling conflicts and you are right that you can't make it perfect for everyone, but something like an LSU football game is easily avoidable, you know the schedule almost two years out.
I planned my wedding and got married on Dec 21. No LSU games, and my rationale was that people would be in town for the holidays and already have money budgeted if they needed or felt compelled to get us something.

so you made your guest miss time with their family's during the holiday to go to your wedding?

I was an usher in my cousins wedding the day of the LSU/Alabama game in 2011. I fulfilled my usher duties, took photos, and bailed to the nearest bar for the game. Bride refused to have a tv at the reception. No fricks given on my part, but my parents were less than pleased.

If not watching a football game makes you not enjoy free food and booze, the issue is with you.

Sorry you associate with trashy people. They could have just not gone if they cared so much. Apparently they were too pussy for that.

It's not in some cities.

What a fricking a-hole you are for making people shift their holiday travel plans to go to your insignificant day. See how stupid that sounds?

And that's all that needs to happen. If you want to watch the game so bad, go watch it. Seems to have worked for everyone. Good job

Your such a count. We had a good crowd, and were in no way upset for those that couldn't join us.
Man I will say this, you usually only get about 13 LSU games a year, sometimes a couple more, and there always seems to be people planning weddings during this time and getting upset when people want to watch and follow the game.
I feel like a lot of brides want to have it during the LSU games and make you have to come to the wedding and do that whole gig for their own ego.

Where are all these people that are upset that I keep hearing about? I've never encountered them, but I sure do read a lot about them.

I gave you a real world example of a wedding in attending during an LSU game. The bride was becoming visibly upset and annoyed at the men watching the game.

That's fine at the wedding IMO. If you're at the wedding, participate. If you'd rather watch the game, go watch the game somewhere else..
Where are they before the wedding happens? You say the women are just stroking their ego, but I think you're just being a sexist.

My wife didn't care that people were watching the game at our wedding
hell the preacher was the one that came out yelling because it was on the LSU/UT game in 2010 with the no time play to end the game
