Again, this is not true. Bedside nurses, LPNs, NPs, and charge nurses, that I know personally and are very good at their jobs, have been fired.

No reports of this from my point of reference, which is pretty legit

Yes, I have not heard any of this either

The ones that I know of appeared to do a great job but I wasn’t the one doing their annual performance reviews so I have no idea of their metrics year over year.

You don’t have to believe it if you don’t want to. I am just passing along the things that have happened at the facility I currently work at today while I am here.

That's actually more than 3 months. 13 weeks

What was your job title?
Yea, I’m not going to post that on a public forum. Our department lost a LPN that was making sub-30k per year and a NP making over 100k. They both saw patients each day. I had no idea they were let go until I called to check on them around 10:00, and they told me they had been laid off.
Edit: both were great employees and had stellar performance reviews.

I know a girl that got the boot today, been there 32 years and she got the 65 days.

If oschner asked you to gargle 1,000 dicks, you'd swallow them down and ask for the 1,001st.
Still, it doesn’t change the fact it seems incorrect they are letting go patient facing nurses today. Sorry that makes you angry and makes you think about swallowing dicks

LPN that was making sub-30k

NP making over 100k.

Do we have enough data points here to make a theory about this relating to demographics, as an earlier post suggested? That would be interesting.

Not really sure if you understand what Nurse Practitioners do but the one that was laid off where I work was most definitely not in a management position.

The days of people believing Ochsner is a well run system are long gone. Shitty management and strategy.

Ochsner hates paying their employees. Doesn't matter what you are. NP or PA in Arkansas or Alabama makes 110 out the gate and brings in over double that in profit. Ochsner ? From what I'm told they balk at paying anything over 90 unless they're specialized, while still making the same profits.
On rhe physician side, There's the non compete agreements they try to strong arm inexperienced residents to sign. I tell all providers ... Someone wants you to sign that you tell them to frick off.
And numbers wise while it varies they are close to if not THE lowest paying healthcare org in LA at this point.
LCMC and OLOL finna eat.

so I'm assuming that means there were some director level nurses that were let go, as well
I know of at least 1.

I wouldn’t be surprised if RNe in non patient related roles were targeted the most. Trying to kill two birds with one stone
