Then she's ignorant and blind to what's going on. They do understand the industry. They're also trying to take it down. Democrats view the Green New Deal as their version of the Great Leap Forward.

This. Everything the government touches, they ruin.

The entire Biden administration doesn't either.

Why not just stop selling to California?
Many have. Current CA regulations essentially require that the oil be refined in the state, and requires a specific crude stock which was most common in Russian crude stocks - which obviously aren’t available now. So hard to find feed stock and a pain to produce, they’re going to lose more producers soon and be up a creek on supply. They’ll end up lowering standards at this rate if they understand at all

Accurate enough. It's the hunting camp mud truck of guns. It just f'n works every time.
And if you miss, there's 29 other rounds you can blind fire around a corner

Cali government loves them gas taxes though

They don't have to understand it, they are removing it

There’s a reason Oxy moved to Houston from LA several years back.

Will the government subsidize outsize losses due to economic factors beyond the company's control?

As the middle class bleeds out of California, you'll have a few million wealthy people supporting 20 million poor folks. They'll continue to push producers to pay for their charity.

This is one area where I would support federal pre-emption. You can't let one state screw up oil and gas for the other states.
Who will pay any penalties? The residents of 49 other states.

You're starting to see industry executives speaking out more against false information put out by vote-begging politicians. Pioneer's CEO, Chevron's and now OXY's, amongst others over the past months.
It is too little too late.

Newsome's family is tight with the Getty's and the Pelosis. It's not ignorance.

California doesn't want the industry, so, the industry should abide and leave.

I kind of find this funny. California has the highest gas tax in the nation. Their government could lower the price of gas for its citizens.

But they couldn’t move Elk Hills so they’re still tied to the state. I’m not sure what’s left in Tulsa now.

He’s wrong. They do understand the oil industry. That’s why they’re currently succeeding at destroying it.

Maybe I'm ignorant here, but the oil & gas industry appears to be doing quite well CURRENTLY, despite the Biden Administration and leftist politicians.
At this time, free enterprise, industry and American individualism is still stronger than the desires of some of our elected leaders and bureaucrats. I hope to never see it flip the other way.

In California you have to make CARB gasoline. It cost more to make CARB gasoline and is another reason why gas is higher there.
