They were hiring all over the country just months ago. What a mess.

I looked at their roster (still know one member left) and I had no idea they were in NYC and Nashville

I remember when the firm's name was McGlinchey, Stafford, Mintz, Celini & Lang.

Damn that was a long time ago.

Hope they give their support staff a nice severance package.

They were hiring in Houston fairly aggressively within the past few years. From what I could tell they were trying to get rid of their insurance defense image nationwide. I’d imagine when the daughter pulled her book whatever efforts they were making in financial services and “entertainment” or wherever were too expensive for the leftovers to carry on.

I just had the same thought about when I started reading the firm's name in your post.

I think AI is going to have ripple effects in the higher end firms like this over the next 5 years, with practice area shuffling and then groups moving/consolidating once they figure out how to remain the most profitable.

I have this fear that in 10 years, a lot of lawyers around my age who were in those firms will be left behind and have to start working down a prestige tier or 2.

More likely non-equity or of-counsel.

Should have chosen a more honorable profession other than legalized extortion. Freaking cockroaches. All they do is suck the blood of people who create wealth and the producers and job creators of the world. They make nothing, produce nothing, take everything they can, and cause everything to be more expensive. Then they go and become politicians. The one profession full of bigger scumbags than law.

TWPD is a bad joke. It will cave like Mcglinchey within the next 5 years either because all the lawyers hate each other or they will get in trouble with their clients and the bar.

Sounds like TWPD put a whopping on you - couldn’t hang with them
