And they blow QT's out of the water.
They are in PA, eastern Ohio, W.VA., VA, and NC.

I can see rural Pennsylvania having good gas station food. But in the places I've lived in the north, I can't remember a gas station like you'd see in the south. None of the food would be prepared on site. Lord knows, maybe if you get far enough out in the boonies you'd find some.

Not reading that article.
Frick the NYTs, the last thing I want are emails from that rag.

There are gas stations that don't serve food? Its a pretty convenient situation. You fill up your vehicle, go in and grab something to eat. Two birds, one stone.
And every once in awhile I like to grab a slice of Hunts Brother pizza. Those stupid fricking Yankee gas station owners don't know how to maximize profits.

She deserves ridicule for the “MAGA south” reference.

Not to mention Sheets. They're just arrogant pricks who like to smell their own farts
The article and book that is the genesis of the article is not talking about CSs like WaWa, QT, and Sheets, they are well acquainted with those. It is specifically about the small hole in the wall places that have been around for decades and most people drive right past without even noticing and certainly not thinking about going in and getting some great food. The book itself is an ode to these sorts of places not some sort of hit piece.

They believe their sons are really their daughters so I think they are more delusional.

Those are some rough looking pumps.
ETA:
The best hamburgers in Kosciusko, MS in the 70's came from Cain's Grocery Store. I think it had gas pumps at one time. They stuck them in a brown sack that got greasy on the ride home.
I remember a marina grocery store on Ross Barnett reservoir that had steaks, fried fish and hamburgers for the kids. Every time I went to a friend's dad's camp we grabbed a late dinner there after driving from Kosciusko on a Friday after work.
Vidalia had a place called Charlie's I've filled up and gotten breakfast there many times. I think it was a combination gas station/liquor store before they built the restaurant. It was right down the street from the Shamrock Motel, where the Klan used to meet in the 60's.

The B Quick gas station and convenience store in Isola MS has a full buffet lunch every day and I have to tip my hat to the chef there. It’s splendid fare and the maitre d and I are on a first name basis.
