Wouldn’t it be awesome to pay even more taxes for the sake of jailing junkies?
At best, it is ~20%.
And marijuana is something like 2%.
Oh, the overflowing!

Wouldn't it be even more awesome if the bleeding hearts focused more of their time on crime prevention and encouraging public safety than trying to get violent offenders released after they have volunteered to go to prison?
And when are the victims going to get some of that sympathy the criminals are getting?

No. 1 problem in this world, stupidity

Thanks to her bravery and white guilt someone else had to die .

You really think junkies are filling our prisons?
Posted on 5/12/26 at 10:00 am to CarolinaGamecock99
This is exactly why you send violent people to jail regardless of their skin color.

There's no such thing as "too many people in jail" that's s completely manufactured bullshite talking point created by the pro criminal crowd.
Easy enough to make room-------------carry out the death penalty cases in an expedited manner instead of allowing them to remain on Death Row for decades.
That should free up a few thousand beds in prisons across the U.S.

That is statistically nothing.

That’s so NYC. Those people are touched.

But you can't argue it would'nt be a good start---------unless you're a bleeding heart iberal.

You think 20% is some immaterial number?
That’s like 300k people @ $50-60k a head on average = $15-18Bn
In 1980, it was 25,000 people

Money well spent. Possibly one of the absolute best uses of my tax dollars.

Drug crimes are not causing “prison overflowing”.
We need to lock up more people.
quote:Ok…
In 1980, it was 25,000 people
And?
Our population also increased by 120 million people.

Over 300k people are currently incarcerated on drug offenses. They’re not all dealers, home slice. 35-50k are not in there for dealing and at the state level, most of the “dealers” are users who flip drugs in small quantities to fuel their habit.
It’s an extraordinary burden on the system, and why you see overcrowded prisons.

So population increased 50% and drug offenders incarcerated increased 12-14x

What’s your experience with the criminal justice system? Explain

Nah, I’m a white guy who lives in a city, sends his kids to private schools, and pays more in taxes than the median family makes. I’m trying to pay less, not more.

The bigger issue is psych, but everyone wanted to shut down psych facilities, therefore they can only go one place.
