nah. it stands true. go get you a teaching job. 100+ days off every year, would be perfect for your lifestyle.
Again, doubtful.
You don’t know anything about my lifestyle. I do however notice on this board that those most vocal about how “hard working” they are tend to be middle management types at best if they’re white collar and a lot of blue collar plant baws, neither of which tend to be very high earners.
Again, suckers.

Thinking that a four-day work week is a good idea with the productivity increases that we’ve had over the past 50 years in particular makes me a dipshit?

Do It!! Betcha won't.
A) be a blessing to have the NY Times shut down at election time.
B) eventually this will be the death knell of the Times anyway when they cave.

Partially, but many of your other posts contributed to it as well.

The NYTimes is a dying dinosaur in legacy media already.

non-performance-based annual bonuses
I stopped reading right there. What profit based company would ever do this and stay in business? Its like 1+1=3. Perfect demonstration of the entitlement of the generation.

idk what happens there or much about NYT, but those workers sound like giant vaginas as far as workers go.

I mean yeah it is ridiculous. But also you have to ask big in my opinion. So you get sliver of what you originally demanded and it’s a real win.
It’s been dragging on for two years and these employees are demanding very racist and illegal things

As Semafor previously reported, the Guild proposed a ban on scented products in break rooms, unlimited break time, and accommodations for pet bereavement, as well as mandatory trigger warnings in company meetings discussing events in the news.
Not that I side with the NYT management in general but this kind of horseshite is why people don’t take unions seriously.

These are red herrings and the article states some have been settled or withdrawn. The main issue is
quote:
“just cause” protections against discipline, which it says the journalists already have, and guardrails around the use of artificial intelligence, including a provision that would prohibit the Times from laying off staff based on evolutions in technology.

The Guild also criticized the paper for continuing to object to proposals that the Guild says it has already withdrawn or resolved, saying it’s “an attempt to distract.”
The fact is the Times Management is anti-union and pissed the tech workers formed a union to negotiate this contract.

The Guild has put forward a number of proposals that management has balked at in totality, including a four-day work week coupled with significant increases in pay, full coverage of all health care premiums for employees and family members, guaranteed RSU grants for all members of the unit, and non-performance-based annual bonuses,
Everyone of these union members should be fired for being stupid and delusional enough to make such absurd demands.
