Checking in.
My pregnant wife got pissy because I didn't get a plate of her banana pudding while we were crossing paths in the kitchen, thinking we were alone I said in a normal voice that I was gonna flop my banana in her pudding if she wasn't careful. Her nephew and her mom were right behind me.

Things got off to a rocky start. Prior to today my wife made it very clear she did not want my SIL alone with our kids. She doesn’t trust her to not try and indoctrinate our kids while we aren’t around. Literally writhing ten minutes my wife goes to the back of the house and there my SIL is with our older daughter totally alone. Wife is fuming and told her if this happens again she’s never gonna be around our kids again. About an hour later I overhear SIL blasting my wife to her other siblings that’s she’s not allowed to be alone with our kids. I told my wife who rolled her eyes. I truly hope it doesn’t get any worse but I will absolutely update if it does!

I am laughing as I cook because the two dishes my SILs asked me to bring are things they like but my MIL does not. She won't say anything to me like would her daughters if they made it.

Well, things might get interesting. SIL has a 27lb turkey and planning to eat in an hour. They took it out to check the temp and the fricker is at 200….
I even told my brother earlier today that a turkey that big doesn’t need 15mins a lb, but probably closer to 11-12.
She had that sucker in there at 325 for 7 hours….
Her comment to the wife, oh, it’s fine, it’s always like that. Just take the temp in like 15-20 mins, we just took it out.
Gonna be Gravy with a side of turkey for dinner

My pan of store bought cinnamon rolls BURST into flames within 2 minutes of putting it into the oven. Had to quite literally dump the pan out on the driveway.
The oven was on the lowest setting…
Granted these were store bought rolls and probably full of petrochemicals, so I am taking this as a sign from God that I didn’t need that stuff anyway.

One of the greatest parts of getting old is you can whatever you want with zero fricks to give.

One of the folks staying with us asked this morning if we had a bathroom “that wasn’t right off the kitchen.” So apparently the half-bath isn’t good enough. Now the wife wants the master bathroom open for everyone later today. Is nothing sacred? This should go well with 20+ people in the house…
Sorry but you gotta make room for the extra visitors

Obviously you did something wrong. That doesn’t just happen

Rested for 28 minutes…..
See, I told you it would be 170,
wtf
We aren’t eating for another half hour or so. Nothing like extremely dried turkey that’s room temperature at eating.
Seriously, I’m a divide my Thanksgiving meal kinda guy, but this year, it will be a mashed potato, gravy, stuffing, turkey, green bean casserole mush each bite.
200 degree turkey. Ugh

Offshore food update: They had a whole damn pig cooked in there! Boiled shrimp too! Lots of desserts. Normally they have a lot more food, which is probably not necessary anyway. Also, I heard prime rib tonight.

I’m glad they took care of y’all.
We were told not to mess with the quality of life stuff for the offshore guys. It’s pennies on the dollar in the grand scheme of things.

About the only thing of interest that’s happened so far here is my wife’s cousin is telling the story about this guy who she went to HS with back in the day, who apparently is a homeless guy living in Roebuck now, has contacted her on Facebook saying he “was told by an angel” that he has to protect her because she is to serve some important role in something. So far, she detailed the following other things he’s told her.
1. He fought in Iraq as part of Blackwater
2. He was in the CIA (he’s currently hiding from them by being homeless and living in Roebuck)
3. He is a member of the Crips, this despite being a pasty white 52 yr old white dude.
