MSNBC Lockup did some European prisons once in a while. There was one in Serbia or Croatia with a swimming pool. There was a high security prison in Belgium for hard core felons with cells that looked like college dorm suites with private bathrooms.

The Serbs and Croatians were killing each other in the nineties over which way they made the sign of the cross, left to right or right to left. If you got stopped at a checkpoint that's how they determined whether to let you through or shoot you. You'd better know which side was manning the roadblock and make your sign accordingly.

Take some time to look up the Norwegian Sovereign Oil Fund. I believe it’s worth like $300k per Norwegian citizen. In a few generations no one there will work at all.

It helps to have oil. Scandinavia was poor AF before the seventies. It's why so many of them immigrated to the US in the 19th Century.
Now, a fair question to ask is why have the Norwegians used their oil wealth to create a stable, prosperous society and the middle eastern countries have done just the opposite.

It's great for poor people, and it sucks for affluent people. My daughter lived two years in Sweden and had a baby there. And she's lived about five years in the UK and is about to have a baby there.
They ration care in a way that Americans (working Americans, that is) would find appalling. Recently she suspected low iron and went to the doctor. Instead of testing, like any US doctor would have, they just gave her iron supplements and sent her home. Plus she had to wait about a week and a half for an appointment. It sucks balls, but they love it cause IT's FREE. I pointed out that the reason two University employed PHds have to live in a 1200 sq ft double is because of all the FREE stuff they get.

That's actually really interesting. Sounds almost like a public version of the FIRE movement, where everyone has their own endowment.

I would imagine one being an absolute monarchy and the other a constitutional monarchy has something to do with it.

It’s a factual statement. What’s your issue with it?
And someone has already pointed out their lack of guns. They aren’t shooting white people, either, because there aren’t a shite ton of trashy white people there who bring guns to interactions with cops.

Culturally and racially homogenous, thus possible. Melting pots can't achieve this. We do however have many advantages over racially and culturally homogenous countries.
