what about folks who for whatever reason didn't or couldn't go to college? Stuck cheering for their High School team?

Can you not be a fan of college sports while you're in high school? That's pretty stupid

It's pretty sad, especially the ones that are super die hard about it.

People who go all in for pro sports are even worse though.

I'm a braves and a cubs fan and I'm from Baton Rouge .... only because TBS and WGN were 2 of the 13 channels we had growing up.

i was born and raised in south louisiana, spent most of my adolescent life there, although i don't live there now, and am not alumni, i am still a TIGER fan, and will always be a TIGER fan. I still make it to a game or two every year, and am as faithful as you can get i suppose. family still lives down there and i am down there often.
now then, heres the part i don't get... i know more than one bama fan, that have zero ties to the state or the school, never even driven through state of alabama when you ask them why they are a bama fan, they just scowl and say "because i like em"... know a few miami "fans" as well... i dunno, it don't matter i suppose, i just never got it. as far as the alumni argument, generally speaking, those with that attitude that are alum, thats their way of making themselves feel like they're better than those that aren't

Maybe

The fact that you’re asking this and couldn’t think this concept through leads me to believe that schools up north don’t encourage critical thinking. It’s obvious that college fans aren’t always alumni for MANY reasons, and these reasons are obvious to anyone with half a brain.

MLB, NBA, and NFL are much better products to find a niche. Why root for some kids screwing around when you have nothing vested?

Just asking?

What? I went to Princeton, not the University of Arkansas. I Love the HOgs, couldn't care less about the Princeton Tigers.......

It may have something to do with you know growing up in Hog country all my life.

I'd rather college football over NFL. College baseball/basketball are a joke
