I remember while I lived one New Orleans, I had to settle something with my account and these frickers made me drive over to their office. When you walk inside you’re greeted with the sounds of a thousand 3” fingernails clip-clapping on keyboards all over the place. Through some odd chance, whatever you needed done happens to be no one’s job. I got directed to 4 different desks before finding someone who said the girl that “handles that” is on vacation.

That's good news. You just need to add the water now so it's safe to drink.

Just ignore their bills and they go away. It's crazy how my $75 payments make the $500 bill they sent me go to a zero balance.

Believe it or not, but the NOLA Sewage & Water Board is actually much much worse.

This is what happens when you have complete job security and a decent retirement after you put in your time. There is no incentives to be helpful or efficient. This is the case with pretty much all government entity and it employees.

If the processes were privatized the efficient and service would be top notch.

No offense, but I no longer feel sympathy for people who choose to live in New Orleans and then complain about incompetence, corruption, crime, garbage everywhere, or failing infrastructure.

It has been that way for almost 50 years and there is no evidence it will change on the foreseeable future.

One can live in the GNO and avoid all those issues. Pretty easily and still have a short commute. Jefferson, St Bernard, and St Tammany all offer better Quality of Life for a lot less money.

Move. Or stop complaining.
