•During a news conference Saturday night, Cedric Grant, head of the Sewerage and Water Board, told reporters the pumps were working at full capacity. In a video posted on WWL-TV's website, he said he understands the frustrations of people whose homes, businesses and vehicles flooded, but that the system was working as it is designed to, calling it "pretty amazing.''

"We're in an era of climate change,'' Grant said, adding that rain events like the one Saturday will happen more and more.

At what point were they going at full capacity? That's the question.

At what point does Mitch hold an "I told y'all so" press conference? Remember that he just rambled on about climate change in his State of the City speech.

Most people who claim climate change for things don't even know what climate change is.

the fact that retards will focus on that he uttered "climate change" instead of the fact that he basically doesn't see anything wrong with the system, even though the city flooded, is sad to me

I agree it was pretty amazing that a moderate rain storm flooded the entire city

NOLA residents seem to be the only people in the world who live in a bowl and can't figure out why water keeps collecting there.

Throw "climate change" into it and you immediately get the millennials on your side. It's not the drainage system's fault...

You don't plan these systems on the worst possible scenario.

10 inches in hours is a once in a century level storm.

Probably never. That system shouldn't be at full capacity for a rainstorm.

I don't live there but it doesn't take but one bottle neck to really mess things up. How good of a job do they do at keeping drain pipes clean from debris? I would expect, like most cities, many pipes are 1/3 full of silt in areas.

Can a person use climate change as an excuse to not pay property taxes?
